Wedding Photographers should always do a pre-wedding day
reconnaissance of the location and venue if at all possible.

It's very important for the Wedding Photographer to meet the
clergyman before the wedding and discuss the rules and any
restrictions of the Church or Venue rather then doing it on the
wedding day as this will just add more chaos and it’s likely
some very important shots will be missed.

Wedding Photographers should arrive early at the wedding
venue on the day as an effective organisation strategy saves
enormous time and stress for all.

Most Wedding Photographers tend to carry a list of
photographs to take and we feel it is far more efficient  to
start with the largest group and dismiss people, rather than
start with a few and keep calling for others. It is easier to
maintain the interest of the key parties rather than keep the
masses waiting until the end of the session by which time
they may be much less co-operative through the effects of
the heat or cold and the lack of drink or through boredom.

Our desire is to shoot as many images as possible with each
party in order to eliminate blinks and provide as much of a
variety as possible.

Wedding Photographers tend to do a full-length version
followed by a head and shoulders or half-length version of
the same set-up rather then two photographs which are
exactly the same. You will see how easy it is to create 200
different photographs at a wedding, excluding a couple of
candids.

It would be feasible for any Wedding photographer to talk
with the people who are taking part in the preparations and
the Wedding as well as the event organiser as they will be in
a position to advise the Photographer where each Guest will
likely to be at any given time during the Wedding.
